A rough account of what I did with Emacs recently.

July 12: Rooting around for a USB drive and found one with a capacity of 1GB given to me as part of a swag bundle by a vendor trying not to lose a contract back in, hmm, 2007? 1GB sure seemed like a lot of capacity when I got it. Right now it's about 1/32 of what I actually need.

July 11: Domestic Man (cape flaps): one light fitting replaced, one guestroom TV restored to operation.

Bit of wheel re-invention: hacked together enough python to take a blob of text and one image URL and post it to Mastodon as a thread. For reasons. As it currently has an oauth token hardcoded in it I'm not sharing it right now, but the only real tricky bit was that when the API docs say media_ids[], the square brackets are part of the parameter name.
July 10: Hurrah, Silo is back! (well, it was back last week, but we saved up an episode so we could have a feature-length one tonight). I'm not sure how I feel about the whole amnesia thing, although it makes sense in the context it's being played in.
July 5: Went to watch our two missing Voyager episodes only to discover we had in fact watched them, I'd just not recorded the fact. Oops.

July 4: Biiiiig virgin media outage - 3pm to 7, roughly, and no acknowledgement of it until about 4pm, either. Oh, and there's no customer support over the weekend.
July 3: Echo Valley: well, that was a mistake. Featuring a cast of terrible people who make worse decisions than the Twilight woman, and that's saying something. By the time we got to the "clever" ending I'd long since stopped caring. I mean, sure. There are people - families - like this in real life. I don't watch movies for real life. I watch movies for escapism. I do not want to have to sit through terrible people making terrible decisions because "it's how life is".
