Hacker's Diary

A rough account of what I did with Emacs recently.

June 27
Anna was a lot of fun. It had that same borderline silliness that Luc Besson's other movies have, but also worked well as a fairly solid thriller. I do want to see a timeline, though. The whole thing is full of flip-back reveals.

Things have been a little hectic of late, hence the lack of updates, but anyway. We're on season 6 of Voyager. We watched all the classic Jack Ryan movies (confirm distance to target, Vasilly). We watched Clint doing Pale Rider. We took a powerboat tour of the Dun Laoghaire / Dalkey / Killiney area courtesy of Goat Boats. We sweltered, since that is currently the done thing in these parts. DVD rip project: languishing. Other nerdery: proceeding in fits and starts.

Finally got to the end of Voyager, except for the end of season five / start of season six which by my estimation will show up on reruns in a few weeks' time. The ending was, eh, ok. I wasn't keen on the whole in media res way they pitched it: never mind how they got where they are, they got there, and that's that. And of course the storyline never clears that up. But, ok, I guess they could've done worse. I guess now we'll be ploughing through Deep Space Nine a good deal more quickly.
